Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We’re an online publisher — we don’t sell products, run accounts, or trade your data.

Last updated: July 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Grate & Grill(“we,” “us,” or “our”), a website published by Type 5 Marketing LLC, handles information when you visit grateandgrill.com or contact us. Grate & Grill is an independent BBQ and grilling gear review site. We are a content publisher, not a retailer: we do not sell products, we do not take payments, and there are no user accounts to create. Because of that, the personal information we handle is limited, and this policy is deliberately short and plain.

Information we collect

We collect only two kinds of information:

  • Contact form submissions. When you use our contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. You choose what to send — please don’t include sensitive personal details you wouldn’t want in an ordinary email.
  • Analytics data. Like most websites, we use analytics to understand which pages are read and how the site performs. This includes information your browser shares automatically, such as approximate location (usually city-level), device and browser type, referring page, and the pages you view. It is aggregated and used to improve the guides, not to identify you personally.

We do not collect payment information, we do not require registration, and we do not knowingly build advertising profiles about individual readers.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and understand how readers use the site. Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar technologies to recognize returning visitors and compile usage statistics. This data helps us see which comparisons and guides are useful so we can improve them.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across sites using Google’s official browser add-on. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to read anything on the site. Some retailer and affiliate partners may also set their own cookies once you click through to their sites — those are governed by their privacy policies, not ours.

Affiliate links and third-party retailers

Grate & Grillparticipates in the Amazon Associates Program and may participate in other affiliate programs. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. To make that work, affiliate partners such as Amazon use cookies or tracking parameters to attribute a sale to our site. We do not receive your name, address, or payment details from these purchases — only aggregate reporting about clicks and resulting sales.

Once you click through to Amazon or another retailer, you are on their website and subject to their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any retailer before you buy. For more on how our links work, see our affiliate disclosure.

How we use your contact information

We use the information you send through the contact form for one purpose: to read your message and reply to you. Our email is handled through Microsoft (Azure) email services, so your message and our response are processed and stored on Microsoft’s infrastructure as part of delivering email. We do not sell, rent, or trade your contact information, and we do not add you to a marketing list from a support message.

Data retention

We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond to you and to keep a reasonable record of correspondence, then delete them in the normal course of managing our inbox. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings in Google Analytics and in aggregated form for trend analysis. If you would like a message you sent us deleted sooner, just ask.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we collect so little, most requests are simple to honor. To make a request, email us at info@grateandgrill.comand tell us what you’d like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity by replying to the email address associated with the request.

Children’s privacy

Grate & Grill is intended for adults shopping for grilling and barbecue equipment. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Our guides link to retailers, manufacturers, and other outside websites for your convenience and reference. We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of those third-party sites. This policy applies only to grateandgrill.com; once you follow a link elsewhere, that site’s own policy governs your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here, so it’s worth checking back if privacy matters to you.

Contact us
